The top 10 best Montana wedding venues
If you’re trying to find the perfect location for your Montana wedding, check out this list of the best Montana wedding venues!
#1 – The White Raven
First up, we have White Raven, located in Missoula, Montana. White Raven is one of my favorite venues because of its brilliant combination of city chic and rustic mountain vibes. Their outdoor ceremony area is surrounded by trees and cliffs, and it’s a beautiful backdrop for any wedding aesthetic, from rustic, to boho, to minimalist/modern. The venue’s ballroom is also a dream! It was designed with an understated rustic style, with items like a giant stone fireplace and one-of-a-kind chandelier. Also, can I get an AMEN for great natural lighting? Well, this venue has it. The ballroom has lots of big windows, which gives it bright, airy lighting for your wedding photos.
With a cozy lodge feel and classy elegance, White Raven is the best of both worlds for Montana weddings! Plus, it’s less than thirty minutes away (driving) from downtown Missoula. This makes it easy to get to the venue, especially if you and your guests are staying in Missoula for your destination wedding.
#2 – Moonlight Basin
When I think of the most magical Montana wedding venues, Moonlight Basin Resort in Big Sky immediately comes to mind! Big Sky is infamous for its luxurious resorts, and Moonlight Basin is the best of the best! Weddings held here are absolutely majestic, especially since the resort is located at the base of Lone Mountain. You can choose between having your wedding in a field of wildflowers, in the woods, or with the mountains as a backdrop. You really can’t go wrong with any of these options.
If a bigger wedding isn’t your thing, Moonlight Basin is also the perfect place to elope. It’s gorgeous, relaxing resort setting makes it an intimate, romantic elopement spot. The resort even offers an option to get married on horseback if you’re feeling adventurous!
#3 – Green Valley Ranch
Green Valley Ranch is one of the best Montana wedding venues in the Glacier area. I love this wedding venue because it’s extremely secluded. Located on the edge of Glacier National Park (which is the perfect spot for elopements, by the way), this venue comprises 480 acres of rolling hills and meadows with mountain views in every direction. Its isolated location and epic views really allow you to disconnect from everyday life and fully enjoy your wedding. Since there’s no one else around, there’s also no noise rules, so you and your wedding guests can party as long and as loud as you want to. (Then, you can all head to bed at Green Valley Ranch’s cozy lodge and cabins). This luxury wedding venue is an awesome choice if you’re wanting to plan an entire wedding weekend for you and your loved ones to enjoy together.
Fun fact: Green Valley Ranch was actually featured in Brides’ list of the 15 most unique wedding venues in the world, along with venues in exotic places like Abu Dhabi and Italy.
#4 – The Barn on Mullan
Another excellent Missoula area wedding venue is The Barn on Mullan. This isn’t your average barn! The Barn on Mullan is extremely chic, with oversized french doors, chandeliers, and votive candles. You can have your wedding ceremony on the venue’s lawn overlooking rolling hills, take your wedding portraits in lush wildflower fields, and then celebrate your reception in the barn under twinkling lights. The Barn on Mullan also makes things super stress-free since they offer catering and bar services, tables, chairs, decor, and more on-site!
#5 – Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon
I am a HUGE fan of Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon in Bozeman, Montana. This wedding venue is the dreamiest, woodsy wedding venue in the state! Since there are so many trees on the property, there are lots of places to find shade from the sun on hot summer days. Your wedding guests will thank you!
From a wedding ceremony in the woods to dinner under the golden light in the venue’s ballroom, and a dance party under the stars on the patio, this Bozeman venue makes for the most romantic and exciting weddings in Montana!
#6 – Montana Wildflower Weddings
Montana Wildflower Weddings is my favorite wedding venue near Billings, Montana. To say it’s charming would be an understatement. It’s a barn (a great reception space) that has the sweetest rustic vibe with a unique modern flair. The venue grounds also give access to gorgeous meadows, a lush flower garden, and sparkling water features. I love the combination of an outdoor ceremony in the meadow just before sunset and then transitioning to the adorable barn for your reception. That golden sunset light with the venue’s lush greenery is breathtaking! I highly recommend Montana Wildflower Weddings if you want to get married in the Billings area.
#7 – Resort at Paws Up
The Resort at Paws Up, which is located just outside of Missoula, is one of the most exclusive and luxurious Montana wedding venues. When you get married at this resort, you have access to 37,000 acres of land to choose from! From woods to rivers, to ballrooms, to fields, to hills, to mountain views, and even islands, The Resort at Paws Up really has it all.
This high-end venue can be the perfect fit for whatever your dream wedding is, whether you want a glamorous black-tie event or an intimate, boho elopement. Plus, the resort offers five-star accommodations, excellent food, and even better customer service! This really is the ultimate place to hold a wedding in Montana.
#8 – Foster Creek Farm
Foster Creek Farm is an upscale, rustic venue in Belgrade, near Bozeman, Montana. The highlight of this venue is the barn, which was originally built in the 1920s. The barn has since been renovated and now has a striking all-white exterior with large windows throughout. I’m obsessed with the barn’s modern, Scandinavian-style aesthetic. It’s timeless while also being more unique than the typical barn venue.
I also love the accommodation options Foster Creek Farm has: a beautifully-styled cabin, estate house, and several glamping tents. How fun! You and your loved ones will lodge in style if you host your wedding here.
#9 – The Ranch at Rock Creek
The Ranch at Rock Creek is the first and only ranch to be given five stars by Forbes Travel Guide. This Philipsburg, Montana wedding venue does not disappoint in any way! It has that classic Montana homestead feel combined with modern style and luxury. This venue is especially perfect for destination weddings since it is located on over 6,000 private acres, high-end resort accommodations, and custom, all-inclusive wedding packages. If you want a five-star wedding experience, The Ranch at Rock Creek is the perfect Montana wedding venue for you!
#10 – 320 Guest Ranch
Last but not least, we have the 320 Guest Ranch! This Big Sky wedding venue (close to Yellowstone) has an authentic ranch feel with nostalgic western style, giving you a true Montana wedding experience. Whether you live in Montana or are planning a destination wedding here, 320 Guest Ranch is an excellent choice. Despite the rustic style of this venue, it does not sacrifice in the luxury department. This classy venue will provide stunning views, elegant ambiance, and high-end comforts for your wedding. I personally love that 320 Guest Ranch has a venue space option right along the river. It’s so fun to get to eat, drink, and dance in this beautiful setting in nature. Plus, a bridge over the river is a great spot to take wedding portraits!
